A well-seasoned foreigner living in Tokyo has signed up to a “Gaitomo International Party” to be held in Shibuya next weekend.

The long-term visa Tokyo resident told his conscience “it would be an excellent opportunity for new cultural exchange prospects”.

“I’m really looking forward to exchanging a lot of culture,” says veteran gaijin Alvin Fishwick.

Fishwick says he can’t wait for the planned assortment of party games, particularly musical chairs.

“I think one of the best ways to get comfortable with a stranger is to sit right on his or her lap.”

“When little Yumi sat on my lap at my first international party thirteen years ago, I still feel that really broke down a lot of barriers to make way for us to exchange an amazing amount of culture.”

Fishwick says Yumi “must of lost her phone” because she never replied to his email back in 2004.

Remember when phones didn’t have email capabilities?

    • Japanese flip phones used email instead of texting. To this day no one seems to really understand the concept of SMS texting since it was never a thing here.
