Studies have revealed that Fukushima’s good name is still stinking like shit around the globe five years after the 2011 nuclear disaster.
The name Fukushima is perceived to be most rancid around East Asia, Europe and the Eastern Coast of North America.
A large majority of the people interviewed in the survey worldwide still associated the name of Fukushima with some sort of vile shambles.
“I don’t know what Fukushima means, but it somehow evokes feelings of the awful stench of disaster,” said Ashur Cisse from Abang, Equatorial Guinea.
“Just hearing the name completely turns me off this sandwich,” said Pedro Trujil from Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
TEPCO officials responded to the study by saying, “no one died from the disaster”.
