The Tokyo Metropolitan Police has identified the only public trashcan aboveground in Tokyo as the prime target for terrorists for the 42nd G7 summit being held in Japan.
Swat teams have been performing drills all week around the bin in preparation for the possibility of an attack.
Other police have been roaming the streets of Tokyo plugging any holes they can find.
“We have so far plugged about 23,000 holes in and around central Tokyo and we are asking the public for their help,” said the Tokyo Police Commissioner.
The police are calling on the public to plug any holes they see or to phone the emergency number and alert the appropriate authorities about any hole discoveries.
