An expatriate who has been living in Japan for over twenty years is still not used to being asked if he’s used to Japan.
“Nihon mou naremashitaka?” 28-years-a-gaijin Mitch Brewster was asked for the 1,492nd time this morning since the turn of the century.
Brewster says he would be used to Japan if people stopped asking him if he’s used to Japan.
“Why do people have to keep asking me?” says Brewster.
“I was used to hanging out with only gaijin, speaking a limited amount of Japanese, and living on an English teaching minimum wage decades ago.”
