The Abe Administration is calling on Korean ‘comfort women’ to bring an end to the issue of the Japanese wartime brothel system and wholeheartedly accept their yen.
The Japanese government plans to set up a fund of about 100 million yen to support Korean ‘comfort women’.
“It’s about time women forced into prostitution during World War II express their sincere gratitude for cash payments of yen,” said one LDP government official.
A signed invoice of payments received will be requested by the Abe Administration.
The government plans to include the signed invoice in school history books as a footnote to indicate the finalization of the transaction of money for services.
