Kosuke Hagino immediately started practicing his variety TV pose after winning gold in the Men’s 400m individual medley in Rio.

Television broadcasting networks Fuji and Nippon TV had already offered Hagino lucrative deals before the 21-year-old even had a chance to towel off.

Hagino said he had brainstormed a variety TV pose before arriving in Rio in preparation for winning the event.

“I’m really looking forward to wrapping string around my head to make funny faces and being dipped into piping hot water,” said Hagino of his anticipated game show appearances in the coming four years.

Hagino was seen before his medal ceremony verbalizing random sounds and noises as he attempted to come up with some kind of hilarious catchphrase that would match his double index finger manoeuvre.
