Around thirty passengers on the Flying Dinosaur roller coaster at Osaka’s Universal Studios Japan theme park were left stranded hanging upside down after the emergency brakes were applied on Sunday afternoon.
No one was injured in the incident, but one man managed to move over to a side-seat after the first child was removed from the ride by rescue workers.
“I was in total shock,” said Yusuke Tamachi, “when the rescue team came and took away the child next to me in the side position I knew it was my lucky day”.
“I proceeded to unstrap myself and swing over to the side-seat without dying.”
Tamachi then slept for the remainder of the incident – pretending not to notice an elderly lady close by who also wanted the side seat – until he safely departed the ride.
