The tip of the NHK weather woman’s pointer stick will now be twice the size as usual to eradicate viewer confusion.
“We had too many complaints that our massive stick ball just wasn’t big enough,” said NHK Managing Director Hisashi Anzai.
Typically 20-centimeters in diameter, the pointer tip has been expanded to roughly the size of an abnormally large human head or your average supermarket apple.
The color of the stick ball has also been enhanced for audience satisfaction.
“We’ve sought to rectify the problem by attaching an even bigger blacker ball to the end of the pole,” said Anzai.
The new enormous stick ball will make its first appearance Monday night.
