U.S. President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump dined with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife Akie at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday night.
President Trump complimented Abe on his “tremendous” knife and fork skills while eating at the Trump-owned estate.
“The way he holds that fork is just very very good,” said Trump.
“It’s just amazing. His peoples must be very very proud.”
Abe told his hosts that he had indeed used a knife and fork back home in his own country.
Trump said that Abe must be a “winner” if he was using the knife and fork in Asia and that Abe must be “bored of winning”.
“He has incredible skills but I have had tremendous success and I am worth tremendous amounts of money,” Trump told Abe.
