Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrived in the US today to discuss trade and security concerns with Donald Trump at the President’s own Mar-a-Lago resort.
An anxious Abe reportedly commenced talks by asking Trump: “Can you teach me English?”
The “Can you teach me English?” strategy is commonly known in Japan as the only method of making friends with a foreigner.
Trump allegedly told Abe that it would be preferable if he got himself a tutor.
“I know some people,” Trump tweeted to Abe while Abe was standing right in front of him.
“They are tremendous English teachers – the best.”
“Why are you tweeting at me?” Abe asked Trump through an interpreter, “I’m standing right here in the room.”
“They earn millions and millions doing what they do,” tweeted Trump.
“They are good people – so amazing.”
“I can literally see you typing that Tweet,” Abe reportedly told Trump.
