Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has announced plans to bolster the government’s ‘womenomics’ agenda pledging a quota of female handshakes to be employed each term.
Abe led by example exchanging one of the most girly handshakes the country has ever seen with US President Donald Trump.
“Yeah, Trump basically sexually harassed my hand, but these kind of things are a common occurrence in Japanese politics,” Abe told reporters.
Abe says they are hoping to achieve a 50 per cent female quota by 2020.
“I’m pretty sure we can reach that target given we are currently trending at around 45 per cent,” he said.
“But Aso needs to lift his game – that Aso is way too manly.”
