A lack of interest in the AKB48 general election has seen a generally unpopular member from Team J claim victory.

The election result will cause shockwaves through the group with the newly elected member proposing extreme changes to the AKB constitution.

The new leader has pledged to take a more aggressive stance by amending the pacifist charter to defend itself against rival idol groups.

The proposed “peace support” law will permit collective self-defense allowing AKB48 to unite with other popular idol groups such as E-girls to stamp out smaller groups threatening their widespread domination.

“This new law will establish peace by spreading more war,” the newly elected member said.

The new leader intends to hurriedly force through the radical changes despite the majority of members being against the hard-line strategy.
