A man robbing a convenience store in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, last week was politely asked by a female employee if he needed “a plastic bag” to carry his stolen goods, including a wad of cash, personal care products and a piece of fried chicken.
The suspect, wearing a helmet and scarf, entered the Ministop convenience store in Nishitateno, and despite pulling a knife on the clerk, was asked to line up from the correct aisle.
When he approached the woman and made his request, he was told to queue up from the spot that was “clearly marked with two feet”.
The clerk apologized for making the robber wait and thanked him for choosing Ministop.
Police said the suspect is about 170 cm tall, wore dark-colored clothing, and was “probably a foreigner”.
