Japan has implemented a state of emergency in Tokyo and six other prefectures (Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Osaka, Hyogo and Fukuoka) now the Tokyo 2020 Olympics has been postponed.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced a state of emergency in an attempt to suppress rapidly increasing coronavirus infections, which will be enforced using passive aggressiveness.
“Given the state of crisis on the medical front, authorities will have the power to force people to stay at home,” Abe told reporters.
“Police have been given special powers to click their tongues at citizens flouting the rules.”
The one thing Japan has on its side in the fight against covid-19 is its willingness to obey authority.
