Japan has reversed its decision to postpone the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in an attempt to halt the alarming spike in reported coronavirus cases.

Reported cases of covid-19 have jumped significantly in Japan each day since the announcement of the postponement of the Olympics.

“We’ve back-flipped and decided to go ahead with the Games as we’ve determined a causal relationship between the cancelation of Greco-Roman wrestling events and the transmission of Covid-19,” Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told reporters.

The reversal has already seen coronavirus cases announced in the previous two days amended to pneumonia cases.
