In a shock announcement, Japan’s entire government has confirmed it will resign after Environment Minister Shinjiro Koizumi said he would be taking paternity leave.
“We’ve taken drastic steps to block a man from taking on the role of a woman,” Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told reporters.
Koizumi announced to the public he would take two weeks time off work in the first three months of his baby’s birth.
“Two weeks is two weeks too many,” said Abe.
“Men don’t need to take paternity leave when womenomics has been such a total failure.”
