There’s more positive news for the commercial whale industry with a new Japanese television segment showing significant health benefits of eating whale meat.
The morning news program has found that an extract in whale meat offers benefits for people with an active lifestyle.
“A study has found that whale meat can help with swimming,” the reporter said.
The study, published in the Whale Science magazine, contributes to the mounting research around the benefits of whale meat in improving free-style and breaststroke skills.
“The growing body of research suggests that consumption of the minke whale may have real benefits for those wanting to go for a swim,” says University of Tokyo scientist, Dr. Kenji Takahashi.
“It may also contribute to heightened chopstick skills.”
