A Japanese woman has continued her self-isolation in the kitchen since around the time of the last Tokyo Olympics.
“What’s new? I’ve been in kitchen lockdown for the last 2351 weeks,” says housewife Shizuko Yamada.
“I don’t know what everyone else is complaining about.”
Shizuko says she’s also been social distancing from her husband since the late 80s.
“Our social distancing began with separate beds, now we sleep in separate rooms.”
Shizuko’s husband has endured a flattening of his own curve for most of the 21st century.
