The Rio Olympics has given Gary Pearson the chance to be reminded just how annoyingly similar gold and silver are in Japanese.
“As if it isn’t hard enough to listen to the news in Japanese, I now have to be subjected to gold and silver medals sounding almost identical,” said Pearson.
“They could have at least gone with ‘gin’ for bronze instead of silver and given us at least a one medal buffer between first and second place.”
Gary Pearson couldn’t distinguish how many gold or silver medals Japan won yesterday but there was three bronze medals out of a total of four.
This was classified as a “colossal medal rush”.
