Can you teach me English? (Photo by Chung Sung-Jun/Getty Images)

Soon after arriving in Japan for the G7 summit U.S. President Barack Obama has been asked by PM Abe if he’ll teach him English.

“You can be my English teacher,” Abe suggested to Obama.

Abe eased into the request by firstly asking if they could be friends.

Obama replied with laughter but Abe pushed the issue by suggesting Obama should correct his English, “If I make mistake”.

“I’m here for the G7 summit and I also have a life,” Obama thought to himself, but replied with, “Yeah sure”.

The president has no intention of ever correcting Abe’s grammatical errors.
