A gaijin who previously lived in Nagoya for five years is still bowing despite having returned home to Gaikoku over one year ago.
Post-gaijin Frank Lopez has been bowing subconsciously to random people when greeting, saying thank you, and apologizing.
“Last week, I bowed at my grandmother,” Lopez said.
Lopez tried to pretend he was just delivering a greeting nod, but committed his whole body to the bow and was easily caught out.
Grandmother Lopez was completely freaked out when she saw her grandson bowing.
“I didn’t know what he was doing at first. Showing me his bald spot?”
Lopez also bows to people when talking on the phone.
