A foreigner living in Japan who wouldn’t really call the Tanabata Gods “friends” has been asked for some help with a bit of English, which according to the Gods “won’t take too long”.
“I hardly even know these guys and now they’re wanting some translation work done?” said Derrick Kingston.
“I wouldn’t ask them to help me out with a bit of teaching.”
Kingston says he wouldn’t even classify the Gods as friends, “more like acquaintances”.
“I hear it every time, I’ll buy you lunch, I’ll buy you coffee, but the translation gets done, and guess what? No coffee.”
