Tokyo Medical University officials allegedly increased the exam scores of female applicants wearing nurse cosplay outfits, according to reports in Japan.
The university has promised to investigate after one of the country’s biggest daily newspapers claimed scores had been changed since 2011 to make sure only sexy female candidates would be admitted.
According to university insiders with knowledge of the scheme, the doctoring of tests was carefully planned – a specific coefficient was used to artificially raise the scores of all women applying to the institution sitting exams in cosplay.
An unnamed source described the unofficial policy as a “necessary evil”, introduced to ensure female applicants weren’t perceived as intelligent by their male peers.
“We don’t want our male students thinking females are as smart as them – this could hurt traditional family values.”
The university allegedly gave extra bonus points to female applicants wearing bunny ears with their nurse cosplay outfits.
