A powerful typhoon smashed into Japan on a public holiday, without a second to spare.
Typhoon Trami will make its way along the archipelago through the whole of Sunday and leave the country at exactly 23:59:59.
“Fortunately, no one will get a day off work,” said one Japan Meteorological Agency official.
Train operations have been suspended across the country, but will resume on Monday morning.
“Arigatai,” says 75-year-old salaryman Kanben Shiteyo.
