Japan’s Goddess of the Sun has postponed a typhoon scheduled to hit Japan today until later in the week to allow for the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito.

The postponement of Typhoon Neoguri will create a double typhoon to hit Japan on Friday night that will last throughout the weekend.

“It’s a win-win, the Emperor has clear blue skies and everyone else doesn’t have to miss a day of work,” reported NHK.

The latest increase in consumption tax is set to cover the 16.3 billion yen cost of the ceremony.
