Staff at a local izakaya in Yokohama loudly broadcast to the whole restaurant last night that more people had turned up to consume food and drink at the premises.
“2 PEOPLE ENTERING NOW!” shouted the waitress as Martin Bouchard entered the establishment with his date.
The other six staff members, including two chefs, also yelled out at the top of their voices just to make sure everyone was up-to-date with the status of patron numbers.
“IRASSHAI, 2 PEOPLE ENTERING!”
Bouchard wondered if the announcement was totally necessary as several people were distracted from their sashimi to examine whether he was batting above his average.
Staff yelled out a second time to alert everyone that they had just cooked another batch of fried chicken as Bouchard and company reached their table out of harms way at the far end of the izakaya.
